Apple To Start Digital Music Service?

Maybe digital music services aren’t as unprofitable as we were led to believe? According to billboard.com, Apple Computer is about to jump into the pay-for-download pool. It is expected that the service would be tie in to Apple’s iTunes program, and in turn, their iPod vehicle, which currently only plays MP3 files. Not much else is known about the venture, short of the fact that Apple CEO Steve Jobs has been in conversation the major labels regarding their involvement. More news for us Apple peeps as it becomes available.
