Legendary rock band The Stooges will reunite next month for an April 27 performance at the Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival in Indio, CA. The brothers Ron and Scott Asheton (on guitar and drums respectively), along with former Minutemen bassist Mike Watt, will join Iggy Pop for the performance. Watt will take the place of original bassist David Alexander, who died in 1975. The reformation of the band will precede the release of Iggy Pop’s next studio album, which Rolling Stone reports will feature four newly recorded Stooges songs, as well as new Iggy solo material. Look for the new Iggy album before the end of the summer.
