Tenacious D Bail On European Tour Due To Security Concerns

The greatest rock band in the world, Tenacious D, have decided to cut their current overseas tour short and head back home in the face of impending war with Iraq. The duo had plans to do some press in Scandinavia following last week’s stop in the UK, but according to NME, they have heeded the concerns of their families and left the European continent yesterday (March 19). Other major US acts currently overseas are expected to follow suit. While the band’s parent company, Sony Music, will leave the final decision up to the individual artists, they would definitely be happy to have their bands out of harm’s way as soon as possible.

Elektra Records stated yesterday that they have cancelled “all international touring plans” in response to the war in Iraq. Other labels are also expected to make similar statements.
