Louisville, Kentucky’s spaced out, reverb drenched, Neil Young-inspired, not quite alt-country, not quite indie rock band My Morning Jacket are taking to the open road this spring. The band will embark on an extensive tour of the US and Canada beginning April 15 in Memphis. They’ll make 40 stops along the way and will cover pretty much the entire North American continent. The guys are currently at work on their self-produced major label debut, which will be released via ATO/RCA this summer. A spokesperson for the band promises notable musical growth and a deeper sound than heard on the band’s prior releases. If that’s true, the album is going to be ridiculously good, as their most recent Sweatbees EP blew me away.
