Incubus Names New Bassist

After originally agreeing to depart following tour promotion for Morning View,
co-founding member of Incubus, Dirk Lance, has made his break from the band official. His replacement will be Ben Kenney, who has teamed with The Roots, Blackalicious, and, most recently, Time-Lapse Consortium (Incubus’ Mike Einziger’s side project). It seems that there are no hard feelings between Lance and his former band members. Incubus frontman Brandon Boyd told Rolling Stone, “We, as a band, would love to express our gratitude towards Dirk for an amazing twelve years of artistry and dedication. He was and will remain a valuable asset to the history of this band. I am aware that the looming ambiguity of this statement might raise more questions than before, but please know that we wish him the best of fortune in every endeavor he pursues. And we will and are continuing our pursuit of high art in sound.”

Incubus will be on the road this summer with Jane’s Addiction, Queens Of The Stone Age, and the Jurassic 5 for the newly resurrected Lollapalooza tour.
