Beck Confirms First Few Dates Of Summer Tour

Rock & Roll chameleon Beck has jotted the first few dates of his summer tour into his daily planner. The forthcoming tour, kicking off on May 28 in Alexandria, VA, will be the singer/songwriter’s second Stateside jaunt in support of his most recent release, Sea Change (if you don’t count the brief solo acoustic tour he went on prior to his trek with the Flaming Lips). Dashboard Confessional and Black Keys have been tapped to open for Beck on all dates. According to Billboard, all three acts are among the first to be confirmed for the long-rumored and highly anticipated Field Day Festival, taking place June 6-7 in Calverton, Long Island.

Beck has only confirmed seven dates as of today, but that number is expected to grow to around 18 before week’s end. Prior to the May 28 kick-off of that tour, Beck will take a two-week solo acoustic road trip across Europe.

Dashboard will release its next studio album, A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar, is due in July from our friends at Vagrant.

Black Keys released their sophomore effort thickfreakness yesterday via Fat Possum.
