Movielink Brings Movie Downloading Service To Hollywood.com

Online movie downloading service, Movielink, has entered into a deal with leading online entertainment site, Hollywood.com that will allow the latter to offer a co-branded version of the Movielink service to its users. According to Mi2N.com, the partnership will allow Hollywood.com to offer its customers the ability to preview, download and watch contemporary and classic films via their broadband Internet connection. Some of the movies currently on the service include such new releases as The Bourne Identity, XXX, and Igby Goes Down, as well as Academy Award-winning films like Erin Brockovich and Platoon. The service will NOT be subscription-based or members only, but instead, users will pay on a per-film basis. Once the movie is downloaded, customers can store it for 30 days, but once play is initiated, you’ll be able to watch the movie as many times you like in a 24-hour period.

This sounds like a pretty cool set up for peeps who travel a lot. You can download a couple movies, store them in your laptop, and watch them while you’re sitting at the gate for 2 hours waiting for your delayed flight to depart. Not sure how much this will affect the average Joe at the moment, but as computers begin their invasion of the “family room” (or TV room, or whatever you like to call it), this will be a great service.
