Metallica To Play 4 FREE Shows In San Francisco

Metallica, the next MTV Icon (whatever the hell that means), will continue to load the promotion machine of their forthcoming album St. Anger with a 4-night performance of FREE shows in San Francisco. Wow FREE shows, thanks Lars. Too bad you made such a stink about that FREE Napster music, when this is really the same thing. Isnít it ironic, don’t ya think? The shows will blow the roof off of the Fillmore May 18, 19, 21, and 22, with radio stations giving away a quantity and fan club members can also get first dibs on tickets. St. Anger will be released on June 10 via Elektra, and these shows are a great way for new bassist Robert Trujillo to cut his teeth on the new and old Metallica catalog. Metallica with join Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park for the Summer Sanitarium tour this, um, well this summer, and take the headline reigns for the Reading and Leeds festivals overseas in August.
