Are you a chick? Are you hot? Do you rock it like a masochist? Can you tolerate working with Courtney Love? If you think you are up to the challenge, then you should join Loveís new all-female band. Love has taken out ads in New York’s Village Voice and L.A. Weekly (the Fred Durst marketing approach) in hopes of recruiting solid women for her live band. The ad reads; “Women required for International Rock Revolution. Join Courtney Love’s touring band and get famous, see the world. Must play bass or guitar (really play), and look like a Goddess. We like Emily the Strange, Lolita Goth, Patty Schemel’s drumming, Nuggets and ‘Performance’ the Movie. We love Flea but don’t want you to play like him. NO BOYS will be considered.î Love is currently working with 1 of the 4 Non Blondes, Linda Perry, on her solo album Americaís Sweetheart. Love is still in negotiations for a US label, but is locked into Poptones/Telstar in the U.K. Love will play the U.K.’s Reading and Leeds festivals in August, followed by additional European dates and a North American tour in the fall.
