Strokes Release Godrich, Re-Sign Raphael

Not only is the honeymoon over, but they seem to have skipped the marriage, too, and gone straight to divorce. The Strokes and producer extraordinaire Nigel Godrich have decided not to work with each any longer on the New York City quintet’s follow-up to Is This It. A statement released by Strokes manager Ryan Gentles declared that the two parties were getting along great, but that it was obvious that they weren’t meshing in the studio, so The Strokes have relieved Godrich (Radiohead, Travis, Beck) of his duties and again turned to their previous producer, Gordon Raphael, for knob-twisting duties on their sophomore album. No word as to how long this will delay the band’s new joint, but stay tuned for more news as it arrives.
