New Mark Kozelek Solo Album On The Way

Mark Kozelek, the Painter of Red Houses, has inked a deal with Jetset Records (Stratford 4, Sahara Hotnights) and will release a solo album slated for a June release. This will be the first time in five years that Kozelek has recorded original material. In 2001, Kozelek recorded What’s Next to the Moon, a riveting collection of quiet and stirring AC/DC covers. Rumor has it that Red House Painters are talking about getting the band back together for another kick ass recording, man, and a 10-inch vinyl single of the new Kozelek song “Duk Koo Kim” will soon be released on Cameron Crowe’s Vinyl Films label. Crowe cast Kozelek in his Oscar winning movie Almost Famous…Stillwater forever y’all.
