Spoon Compile Radio Performances For New UK-Only EP

Austin, Texas-based indie troop Spoon, who we’ve been championing for a while now, have announced plans to release a new 7-song EP this summer. The Way We Get By EP will see the light of day on August 8, through 12XU Records, Matador head Gerard Cosloy’s UK-based label. According to Billboard, the EP will include “The Way We Get By,” from 2002’s Kill The Moonlight, and six previously unreleased radio performances. Sadly for us Yanks, Spoon frontman Britt Daniel says the domestic release of the EP will be unlikely. “Of the radio performances, some of them are me solo – like ‘Metal Detector,’ ‘I Am The Key,’ and ‘Advance Cassette’ – and the rest are with the full band. The songs were done over the past two years at Music Choice in London and WNYU and WFMU in New York,” Daniel told Billboard. “I don’t think the EP will be coming out the States.”

The details of the track listing have yet to be announced, but it is expected to have some bonus features as well.
