Field Day Still Expected To Be Held

Will it be held or won’t it? Many news sources are citing that Long Island’s excellent inaugural Field Day festival has been canceled due to permitting problems. However, many of the UK festivals, such as this year’s Carling Music Festival in Leeds, face similar road blocks, and still obtain the required permits in order to hold their events. Come June 7-8, we feel quite sure you will still be able to check out Radiohead, The Beastie Boys, My Morning Jacket, Beck, Underworld and the rest of the amazing line up. In fact, Field Day founder Andrew Driskin released this statment: “Obviously we are disappointed by this decision, but it appears to be based more on procedural issues than substantive problems. We believe we can resolve this issue quickly so that we can stage (the) festival.” Stay tuned to the Tripwire.com for further updates as the permit situation with Field Day and Suffolk County unfolds.
