More Acts Announced For Austin City Limits Festival

As of today, about 25 bands have been confirmed for the second annual Austin City Limits Festival, taking place September 19-21 in Austin, Texas’ Zilker Park. Tripwire faves The Kings Of Leon, newly reunited country act the Mavericks, and 327-piece robe-wearing outfit The Polyphonic Spree are the most recent additions to the lineup. Other acts tapped to perform include R.E.M., Al Green, Lucinda Williams, Liz Phair, the Beta Band, and Ween. The final line-up, expected to showcase more than 100 performers, will be announced June 12. According to Billboard, last year’s inaugural event drew more than 75,000 people over only a two-day period. “The additional day [this year] will allow us to showcase more of what has made Austin City Limits a television icon, live music from legendary artists and rising stars from all genres of music,” said Charlie Jones, director of events for festival producer Captial Sports & Entertainment. We’ll let you know all the details when they’re announced.
