Chemical Brothers Tag Team With Wayne Coyne For Hits CD

Beatmasters supreme The Chemical Brothers are issuing a greatest hits set this September. This is not news, as we’ve brought you that bit of information previously. However, the collaboration with Wayne Coyne of Flaming Lips is now set in stone to appear on the collection, The Singles: 1993-03, due out in September on Astralwerks. Coyne’s collaboration will be one of two new tracks on the hits CD, with the other being a currently nameless track with Canadian rapper K-Os on vocals. And, in what may be read as total hyperbole, the duo’s resident longhair, Ed Rowlands, told Rolling Stone, “The two pieces of music we’ve made are easily amongst the two best pieces of music we’ve ever made. They’re so different, but they seem to, in different ways, bring together lots of the ideas that we’ve had over the last ten years.” Hmm. Better than, say, “Leave Home,” “Hey Boy Hey Girl,” and “Setting Sun?” I guess we’ll know come September.
