Kraftwerk Prepping First All New Album In Seventeen Years

German electro-rock forefathers Kraftwerk will release a new single and album on July 8 and July 22 respectively. The new material will coincide with the centennial edition of the Tour de France bike race, beginning July 5. The forthcoming album, the band’s first of all-new material since 1986’s Electric Cafe, will be titled Tour De France, with the single being dubbed “Tour De France 03.” According to Billboard, Kraftwerk is currently putting the finishing touches on Tour De France in their own Kling Klang studios in Dusseldorf.

Kraftwerk has recorded music for the annual bike race once before – 1983’s Tour De France EP.
