Problems Brewing In The Libertines’ Camp?

Things are not well in Libertines land. First off, Pete Doherty, half of the dual singing/songwriting/guitar playing pair went AWOL while the band went off to play in Europe. No one heard from him for three days, and the bandís guitar tech had to step in and handle axe duties, while Didz, frontman of UK rockers Cooper Temple Clause, took over on vocals. Pete finally surfaced in the English city of Leicester, claiming he was healing and that he had not shown up because of a fight with fellow frontman Carl Barat. Now comes news that Carl doesnít want Pete to come over to Europe at all and maybe not for the pending UK tour, either. A post on the bandís site from someone claiming to be Pete wrote ìHaving spoken to Carlos it is true – he does not want to play with me, in my current ‘condition.í Iím not sure what he means but he’s deadly serious and itís settled. ìThe note continued, “The lights are all on, it is clear. There is no use moaning about it, it’s the way it is. I’m getting on with things without any of them, though god knows I love him. It’s not happening anymore and it’s the way it is. Fuck ‘em.” Just yesterday, the bandís management stated that the band were not breaking up and this was just their way of being them. No news as to whether this still stands after the posting on the site. Stay tuned.
