Comedy spinoffs ahoy! Evidently, being the lesser known half of the acoustic renaissance folk metal duo Tenacious D is not enough for Kyle Gass . The bald guitar wonder has slipped on the mullet wig, taken the name Klip Calhoun, and rounded up a bunch of friends for his new project, Trainwreck. Also on board the choo choo of hick rock is fellow Tenacious D TV alum Lee a.k.a. Darryl Donald, as well as the ìCaboosesî: Alias star Kevin Weisman (with the nom de plume Kenny Bob Thornton) on drums, Shreddy Kruger on guitars and Boy Johnny on bass. Red Kross four-stringer Steven MacDonald, or Slim Redmond, as heís known around the rest of the íWreck, occasionally plays out live with the band and performed on the bandís 6-track debut EP, Choo Choo Sampler. Bad ë80s rock influences and honky-tonk vibes permeate Trainwreckís sound, and you can never have enough mullet wigs, can you? Check below for Midwest and East Coast summer dates.
