Larger than life metal band System Of A Down are planning their next assault on the rock world. According to a band rep, guitarist Daron Malakian has more than two dozen songs written for the proper follow-up to 2001’s multi-platinum selling album Toxicity. Rehearsals are scheduled to begin later this summer, giving Serj time to put his pen in action. Billboard reports that the as-yet-untitled new release will be co-produced by Malakian and knob-twisting legend Rick Rubin. Rubin has been involved with System’s previous three American Recordings releases.
System Of A Down will only be playing a very select group of dates this year. The UK’s Reading and Leeds festivals will be the only place System disciples can get their fill of the band all year. Don’t worry, US fans. System will be back on US soil soon enough. We’ll keep you posted.
