Festival goers in Ireland and Scotland are going to be none too pleased to hear that The White Stripes have pulled out. Evidently, Jack White and his superstar lady friend, ReneÈ Zellweger, were involved in a car accident in Detroit on Wednesday. Neither was gravely injured, but Jack did suffer a compound fracture of his left index finger and that has caused the Stripes to cancel their appearance at the Witnness and T In The Park festivals this weekend. The Flaming Lips have been moved to the main stage for Witnness, outside of Dublin, and in Glasgow, where T In The Park is held, replacing The Stripes at both shows. Rumor has it that White may be out for up to a month, meaning their US tour may be canceled or postponed. Stay tuned for up to the minute updates as they are made available.
