Radio 4 Prove Their Worth, Organize AIDS Benefit Gig

Who says all the bands are just in it for themselves these days? For one, Radio 4 isnít. the NYC quartet are planning a benefit concert in London in August. Children With AIDS will be the recipient of the bounty raised by the Big Apple garage rock hooligans. In an interview with NME.com, band vocalist Anthony Roman described the reasoning behind the bandís goodwill effort: “When I wrote ['Start A Fire'] I was thinking that if you’re a teenager now, you might think of AIDS as something that happened 15 years ago that doesn’t exist anymore. It’s not on TV, it’s not in the news and it’s incredible how something so serious as a killer disease could be treated in the same transitory way as other news.” Itís highly scary that any teens could ever think that, but, in a way, heís right. And thatís frightening as hell. If youíre in London on August 28, pop by the Garage to check out a great gig and do your part for the Children With AIDS charity group.
