You know how the toilet swirls down the opposite direction in the Southern Hemisphere and the seasons are reversed, as well? I think that the Southern Hemisphere is Bizarro world, because itís evidently turned the nicest guy in rock & roll into a monster. Coldplayís Chris Martin has been charged with malicious damage in Byron Bay, Australia. The story goes that Martin was out surfing and some opportunistic photographer started snapping pics of Chris hanging ten, and the Coldplay main man was not into that at all. Martin is reported to have demanded the pictures be deleted from the digital camera, and when they werenít, he took a rock to the lensmanís car and let the air out of his tires. What the hell? Heís just about the kindest and gentlest guy in the world, by all accounts. Can he really have flipped? Is his face all angular and jacked up like Bizarro Superman when heís down there, too? The court hears the charges on October 8, so plan on hearing much more about this in the coming months.
