Ryan Adams Release Spree Kicks Off November 4

As tipped here two weeks ago, prolific alt-country/alt-rocker Ryan Adams will release his next proper studio album, Rock N Roll this November through Lost Highway records. Now, it seems that there is more to the story. On November 4, Adams will not only drop Rock N Roll, but he will release the EP, Love Is Hell Vol. 1. Love Is Hell Vol. 2 will follow on December 9. According to Rolling Stone, each EP will contain between six to eight songs. Love Is Hell (as a full album) was initially intended to be the proper follow-up to 2001’s Grammy nominated album, Gold. However, earlier this year, Adams said on his website that Lost Highway had rejected the album. “They’ don’t know what to do with it. I’ve heard adjectives like ‘incredibly too depressing’ and — this one’s funny — ‘dark.’ Also ‘not your best stuff.’ They just think it’s too alternative rock or something.”

Thankfully, both parties have resolved their dispute and new Ryan Adams music is on the way. Adams also has two more full albums of unreleased material he has accumulated over the past two years. Those albums, 48 Hours and The Suicide Handbook, are expected to be included in a forthcoming box set.
