The Flaming Lips Make Like Midas On Chumbawamba’s “Tubthumping”

Remember Chumbawamba? They sang that song about getting knocked down but getting back up again and the whole world really liked it. Though they were labeled as one-hit-wonders in the US, the Leeds-based group has continued to put out a steady stream of releases since 1997’s Tubthumper. Now, KOCH Entertainment feels the US is ready to be reintroduced to Chumbawamba, and they’re not the only ones. On October 21, KOCH will release the band’s Readymades And Then Some, which will include a remix of their 1997 smash, “Tubthumping,” done by the Flaming Lips’ Wayne Coyne and producer Dave Fridmann.

In addition to the Lips remix, the new CD is packaged with a bonus DVD featuring excerpts from the band documentary, Well Done, Now Sod Off, that examines Chumbawamba’s history before and after the “Tubthumping” phenomena took the world by storm.
