Thursday Express – RFTC Drummer Joins Offspring; Tribe Reforms

The Offspring have announced that ex-Rocket From The Crypt drummer Atom Willard will take up a permanent position behind their kit. The band have a new album out in December, called Splinter, which featured Josh Freeze on drums. Freeze was sitting in for the departed Ron Welty, who left the band earlier this year.


Q-Tip, Phife Dawg and Ali Shaheed Muhammad, also known as A Tribe Called Quest, recently rebanded to record a new song, ìICU (Doiní It)î for an upcoming Violator Records compilation that also features Missy Elliott and Busta Rhymes. They liked the experience so much that theyíve decided to give Tribe another go. The trio has already started soliciting new producers and a new album is expected sometime in the next year.
