
The Q Magazine awards were held last night at the Park Lane Hotel in London and Radiohead, Blur, The Cure, Duran Duran and Electric Six were among the winners. Surprisingly, however, pre-award favorites Coldplay were shut out, despite being nominated in four categories. Radiohead took the Best Live Act In The World honor, while their producer, Nigel Godrich, won the award for his work on their album Hail to The Thief. Blur got the Q trophy for Best Album and Electric Six for Best Video, for the homo-erotic Abraham Lincoln funfest that is ìGay Bar.î Muse (Q Innovation), The Thrills (Best New Act), Duran Duran (Lifetime Acheivement), and The Cure (Q Inspiration) were also among the victors.
