Having just released a critically acclaimed debut album on RCA, momentum is starting to build for New York-based art school four-piece Stellastarr*. They have been invited by Perry, Dave and company to be the main support act on Jane’s Addiction’s forthcoming UK tour. The seven-date tour stint will be followed up by the band’s largest headlining UK tour to date. Before they jet overseas though, Stellastarr* will tape a performance for Last Call With Carson Daly on October 21 and play an in-store at Virgin Megastore Union square on October 23 (sponsored by Ben Sherman and Blender Magazine).
Upon their return to the States at the end of November, Steallsatarr* will embark on an East Coast tour, though the dates have yet to be announced.
Group frontman Shawn Christensen creates art in all sorts of mediums and will be showing a collection of paintings, called “The Robin Series,” later this month at Cassis. An opening reception is being held on Tuesday, October 28 at Cassis (52 Stone St. b/w William & Pearl) with a special guest DJ. Expand your mind man, and head out.
