Diesel-U-Music Project Returns Even Bigger & Better In 2004

For the second year running, the Diesel-U-Music program will set out to find the best and brightest up-and-comers in the rock, hip-hop and electronic genres. The acts this time around can be signed to indies or unsigned, but Diesel-U-Music is looking for the next big things in all three of those categories. There will be 30 nominees in each category, with the announcements coming in groups of 10. The first group has been announced, and it includes such movers and shakers as Ambulance, Fiery Furnaces, The Stills, Aesop Rock, Diverse, The Postal Service, RJD2 and Prefuse 73.

The thirty nominees in each category will receive a two-month marketing push at retail, at the street level and online, with the final awards ceremony being held in NYC in June 2004. At that time, the three winners will be announced and will perform live. Those three acts will then go on tour together, playing at least 10 major markets, spreading their love and expanding their fanbase via the Diesel-U-Music 2004 Summer Tour.
