Suede Throw In The Chamois Towel

Itís a sad day in the glamtastic Britpop world: it looks like Suede have called it a day. The quintet, who are best known for their brilliant first three albums, their self-titled debut, Dog Man Star (both with Bernard Butler on guitar), and 1996ís Coming Up, announced via a statement to their fan club that come 2004, the band were going to pursue solo activities and that a full band album is not on the cards ìuntil the band feel that the moment is artistically right to make one.î The rest of their 2003 tour dates remain intact and while this isnít a definitive death knoll, the fact that the statement ends with the phrase ìSee you in the next life,î may be more telling. If there is anything pressing on the Suede front, weíll let you know.
