Chic, Power Station Drummer Tony Thompson Succumbs To Cancer

Itís a bad, bad year for musicians. Tony Thompson, the sticksman behind Chicís hits ìLe Freak,î and ìGood Timesî passed away yesterday. He had been diagnosed recently with renal cancer and a fund had been set up to help pay for his treatment, as he had no medical insurance. Sadly, it was too late, but donations can still be made to his family. Thompson also played drums for The Power Station album and played on David Bowieís ìLetís Dance.î He even stepped behind the kit for the Live Aid Led Zeppelin reunion. He was 48.
