Wilco At Work On New Album In New York City

With label and line-up woes well behind them, Wilco has settled back into the studio. According to Billboard, the band is currently in NYC with producer/multi-instrumentalist Jim O’Rourke and engineer Chris Show (Bob Dylan’s Love And Theft) working on the follow-up to the amazing, critically acclaimed, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. Tentatively titled W*lco Happens, the album, which includes the tracks “We Are Finished Waiting For You Now,” and “Hell Is Chrome,” will not see the light of day until late spring 2004. For fans who can’t wait that long for new Wilco music, they will be heard on Scott Kannberg’s (ex-Pavement) Preston School Of Industry album, Monsoon. The album is due out February 17 through Matador and features the Wilco-contributed track “Get Your Crayons Out.” The band has no current tour plans. We’ll keep you posted.
