Big Day Out Doubles Down On Sydney

For the first time in the event’s 11-year history, demand for the Big Day Out festival has led to a second show being organized for a city. That city is Sydney, and now fans will be able to catch the identical lineup on January 24, as well as the originally scheduled date of January 23. The additional Sydney date was added in an effort to cut down on crowds and to make the event more safe. Festival producer Ken West said, “Even though it seems like a big call to stage a second show in Sydney, it was ultimately the only logical step. A second day allows the event to be safer, less crowded and more accessible in a city that always thinks big. As always there’s an abundance of great acts to see and this allows the die hards to go twice and experience two different sides to the show.”

The 2004 Big Day Out festival will feature a killer lineup, as has come to be expected. The Strokes, The Kings Of Leon, The Mars Volta, The Flaming Lips, Jet, Basement Jaxx, The Datsuns, Peaches and The Black Eyed Peas are among the performers this year. Metallica will headline.
