Funk pioneer and one of the most sampled men on the planet, George Clinton, was arrested in Tallahassee on Saturday for drug possession. The AP reports that a Tallahassee police officer noticed a man sitting by himself in the passenger seat of a car in a gas station parking lot about 2 a.m. Saturday. When the officer approached, Clinton allegedly tried to hide an item he was holding by dropping it between the seats. When he then reached into his pocket, the officer asked if the P-funk mainman had anything that might be dangerous. The funk legend allegedly responded, “I’ve got a little cocaine.” Oops. The item dropped between the seats was later found to be a crack pipe. Oops again. WellÖ now we know how Clinton, 63, is still able to play 5 hour-long funk shows 300 nights a year.
