The nominees have been announced for the 2004 Brit Awards and if sheer volume of nominations are any sign, look for big things from The Darkness, Dizzee Rascal, and boy-band-with-guitars Busted when the awards are announced on February 17 at Londonís Earl Court. The pop-metal mavens that are The Darkness have been nominated for four awards, including British Album, where they are up against Blur, The Coral, and Dido, amongst others, British Group, where theyíll duel with Busted, Radiohead and The Coral again, British Rock Act (against Feeder, Muse, Primal Scream and Stereophonics), and they are also in the running for the Breakthrough Act, vs. Busted and Dizzee Rascal. The Mercury Music Prize-winning Rascal is also nominated in the British Male Solo Artist and British Urban categories, while Busted is also up for Pop Act.
