LA Reid No Longer Heads Up Arista

Itís new management at Arista time as label head Antonio “LA” Reid has left his post as President and CEO. Reid, who took over from Clive Davis in May 2000, had led the label to prominence and had been associated with the successes of OutKast, Pink, Usher, TLC, Kelis and more. No word as to the reasons behind his decision to vacate his post or to his future plans, although the label is believed to have lost $100 million over the past few years, due in part to disappointing albums by Pink and Whitney Houston. Michael Smellie will take over temporarily from his position as COO.
