A Sad Day, Indeed: Captain Kangaroo No Longer With Us

Itís news like this that makes you want to get back in bed and wake up all over again and have it be a different day. Kids TV legend Bob Keeshan, aka Captain Kangaroo has passed away. The seminal television host, whose show began way back in 1955, warmed the hearts of kids of many generations with his adventures involving his many varied friends. All sorts of children grew up with daily doses of Mr. Green Jeans, Grandfather Clock and Mr. Bunny Rabbit, as well as shorts like ìSimon & His Chalk Drawings,î and Bill Cosby and his ìPicture Pages,î all from the Captainís Treasure House. Keeshan continued the show until 1993 and had retired to Vermont, where he lived until the time of his passing. Keeshan was 76.
