Friday Express-Stooges DVD; Reality TV Spurs Sex Pistols Album Sales

In celebration of their hometown and their reformation, seminal Detroit protopunks The Stooges are planning a DVD release. The live concert, called, uh, Live In Detroit, was filmed August 25, 2003 during the bandís set of shows over the summer. It was the first gig from Iggy Pop and the boys in their hometown in 29 years. Look for the DVD on shelves from March 23 via Music Video Distributors.


Speaking of punks, itís not only the US where reality TV has taken over like the plague. Reality TV show are huge in England, too, and a new show featuring celebrities living in the wild called Iím A CelebrityÖGet Me Out Of Here! is all the rage. And all this attention is working well for one of the contestants, ex-Sex Pistols singer John ìRottenî Lydon. According to an NME report, Sex Pistols sales have risen by 20% for their seminal punk opus Never Mind The Bollocks since the show first started airing. Sounds like Survivor for celebs works better on the other side of the pond…
