The Strokes Unveil March/April Tour Plans

The Nation in Washington, DC, will be the launch pad for a six-week Strokes tour, beginning March 9. Though confirmed dates thus far end April 25 in Minneapolis, Strokes manager Ryan Gentles told Billboard that the trek is expected to extend through May 19. The tour will come to rally support for the band’s sophomore album, Room On Fire, as well as the commercial single release of “Reptilia,” which hits shelves in March. The “Reptilia” single will feature the B-side “Modern Girls and Old Fashioned Men,” a song recorded with up-and-coming singer/songwriter and Strokes protege Regina Spektor.

The Strokes are performing tonight as part of a series of shows to benefit VH1’s Save The Music Foundation and are scheduled to shoot a video for “Reptilia” with Jake Scott (U2, R.E.M.) when they return to NYC.
