New Beta Band Record Kicks Alpha Sigma Sigma

The third album from UK rock outfit the Beta Band will be released on May 4 from Astralwerks. The band produced the 12-track album Heroes To Zeroes themselves then passed it off to knob-twisting mastermind Nigel Godrich for mixing. In November, frontman Steve Mason told Billboard that a DVD is also in the works that will coincide with the LP release. “All four of us are also working on a DVD to come out around the time of the LP. 12 films, three each, to go with 12 tracks. Some of these tracks may not be from the LP but will be new.” Our pals at Astralwerks had no further information on the DVD release and/or if it was still being planned to street at the same time as the CD. We do know, however, that Mason revealed last month via the band’s website that the first single from Heroes To Zeroes would be “Assesment” and that the video “is going to be the history of human warfare.” Sounds fun.
