B.R.M.C. Guitarist Breaks Thumb, UK Dates Nixed

Bay Area rockers B.R.M.C. have been forced to cancel five dates of their current UK/Ireland tour due to an injury suffered by guitarist Peter Hayes. Affected tour dates include stops in Dublin, Belfast, Middlesbrough, Preston and Sheffield. According to a band spokesperson, Hayes broke his thumb on his left hand in a fall at the band’s recent Brighton show. He has been able to play through the pain for past few days, but it’s feared that continuing could cause permanent damage to his hand.

B.R.M.C. will still appear at their scheduled Leeds Blank Canvas shows this weekend, despite the injury. Peter Hayes will undergo surgery on Monday and a speedy recovery is expected. The band will be coming home for a month-long North American tour with The Rapture in April. We’ll keep you posted.
