Ivy Tapped For New ABC Series Theme Song

Veteran rock outfit Ivy’s song “Worry About You” will be the theme song for Kingdom Hospital, a Stephen King-adapted series that debuts March 3 on ABC. Steven King himself actually called Ivy’s Adam Schlesinger (also of Fountains Of Wayne) and asked him to pen a song like “Stacy’s Mom” for the show. “Adam thought I was pulling a prank on him, because I do that kind of thing all the time,” Ivy’s Andy Chase told Billboard. It turned out to be no joke at all and Schlesinger agreed. After watching the pilot however, Adam suggested that instead, King use “Worry About You” from the band’s 2001 album Long Distance. Producers and King both agreed and the rest is history.

Ivy’s next, as-yet-untitled album is expected to hit shelves late this summer via Nettwerk. We’ll let you know when a release date and title have been decided.
