Remember right after the new year began and Kinks frontman Ray Davies was shot in the leg in New Orleans, while his female companion had her purse stolen? At the time, the injuries were said to be minor and there was no more to the story. Evidently, there is more to the story. Davies is still in New Orleans receiving treatment and his doctors have forbidden him from taking part in the 14th Annual Tibet House benefit gig that was due to take place on February 25. The Carnegie Hall gig will still go forward, with David Byrne, Bright Eyes, Keb Moí, Yo La Tengo, and what the Tibet House website calls ìfabulous surprise guests.î
