Ex-Sunny Day Real Estate turned pyro/cleptomaniacs The Fire Theft have confirmed an extensive, 38-date tour with Saves The Day and Grandaddy. The trek will kick off on March 1 in Santa Cruz, CA, and continue (with very little down time) through April 15 in Portland. StarTime international’s latest signing, dios, will be onboard for the first half of the tour, through March 23 in Washington, DC. Saves The Day (Vagrant) label mates Hey Mercedes will then pick up the slack, joining the act for remainder of the tour.
In related Fire Theft news, the band’s Jeremy Enigk was asked to pen new music for the forthcoming film The United States Of Leland. The film stars Don Cheadle, Chris Klein, Jena Malone, Kevin Spacey, Michelle Williams, and Ryan Gosling, and was written and directed by the incredibly talented newcomer Matthew Ryan Hoge. The film will be in theaters on April 2 through Paramount Classics. Expect to hear more about it right here in the weeks to come.
