Neptunes And StarTrak Exit Arista, Roster Moves Imminent

Chad Hugo and Pharrell Williams, better known as the hit-making production do The Neptunes, have decided to end the relationship between their StarTrak imprint and Arista Records. Quite possibly due to the recent departure of L.A. Reid, the Neptunes are in negotiations with the label to hammer out the details of their split. Inevitably, the duo will have to break up up their talented roster, which includes The Clipse, Kelis, Rosco P. Coldchain and others. MTV News reports that sources say Kelis will likely stay with Arista and Clipse will shift over to Jive Records. Roscos P. Coldchain, three-piece pop/punkers The High Speed Scene and singer Vanessa Marquez will follow StarTrak over to the Universal Records family. We’ll give you a heads up when it’s official.
