Tim DeLaughter and the other 329 members of the Polyphonic Spree will release a DVD/CD combo pack on April 6. Called The Adventure Of Listening, the package features video footage and a five-track audio CD recorded at an October 7, 2003 gig at Chicago’s Metro. According to Billboard, the audio portion will include the tracks “Light & Day,” “It’s The Sun,” and a cover of David Bowie’s “Five Years.” Live performance footage from the U.K., an interview with frontman Tim DeLaughter, the video for “Light & Day” (filmed at the same Metro show), and a host of other fun behind the scene extras will be included in the DVD portion of Adventure.
The Polyphonic Spree are currently putting the finishing touches on their sophomore album, due later this year via Hollywood Records, but that’s apparently not enough to keep DeLaughter busy. He has been recruited to score the film Thumbsucker, an adaptation of a novel by Walter Kim which stars Neo, uhÖ I mean Keanu Reeves, Vincent D’Onofrio, Vince Vaughn and Benjamin Bratt. DeLaughter may release the film’s soundtrack, which is to feature songs from the Polyphonic Spree and possibly Elliott Smith, on his own Good Records label.
Two Polyphonic Spree songs will also be featured on the soundtrack to the forthcoming film Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind. The soundtrack, which is due in stores on March 16 via Hollywood Records, will feature the songs “Light & Day” and “It’s The Sun.” The film itself is directed by famed music video director Michel Gondry, who will also put together a new video for “Liight & Day” that will incorporate footage from the film.
