MTV’s new campus network, mtvU will has announced its sponsorship of the forthcoming Distillers North American tour. The month-long trek will get underway March 25 at The Metro in Chicago and will also feature up and coming rock act, The Icarus Line. The network will offer support for the tour by airing an interview with the band and a number of tour advertisements. Online, the new mtvU.com will have the usual exclusive features, including extensive info on the band and photos and video from the road.
Look for more of these mtvU tour sponsorships to be popping up in the coming months. mtvU senior director of marketing Lori Raimondo told Billboard, “There is so much music making a buzz on college campuses. We are really looking forward to supporting a variety of artists this spring through mtvU’s tours and events.”
