Darkness Singer Loses Voice, Band Forced To Cancel Shows

Singing higher than Mariah Carey, even if you do have skin-tight spandex that gives you super human vocal powers, will take its toll on your voice. Just ask Justin Hawkins, frontman of The Darkness. The singer is suffering from a sore throat that makes it impossible for him to handle his duties as lead vocalist. A press release reads, “The Darkness has been forced to cancel their concert tonight in Cleveland due to a throat problem being suffered by lead singer Justin Hawkins. He is currently under a doctorís care, and the band is expected to resume their US tour schedule shortly.” A show the following night (yesterday, March 31) in Pittsburgh was also canceled. As of now, there is no mention of any other dates being postponed on the band’s website. They have the day off today so hopefully that will give Hawkins time to heal before their show Friday in Philly. If more shows do get cancelled however, we’ll give you the heads up as soon as we know.
