Blur To Record New EP, Offer Hope For Coxon Return

Sometimes, even the best guesses are wrong. Many critics and cynics alike painted Blur as done after releasing the not-overly-feted Think Tank last year, and after losing longtime band member Graham Coxon. However, those strains of ìTapsî may have been a little premature. Not only has Damon Albarn told BBC 6Music that the band are heading back into the studio to record an EP next month, but evidently the door is not shut on a return to the fold from Coxon. “Blur’s like a family with one brother no-one talks to. It is a realistic prospect – the only reason he’s not in the band is because he didn’t feel he was getting enough say.î Albarn went on to add, ìWe’re totally capable of making music together. I can forget about all the other things.” Also, if you had heard any of the lo-fi demos that Albarn recorded for the Democrazy album, you may get a chance to hear them again ñ as Blur or Gorillaz tracks. Many of the songs on his scuzzy solo album have been reworked into tunes for the next Gorillaz album.
