Andre 3000 To Star In Hendrix Biopic, Hopefully

The Hughes brothers directorial team, the guys behind From Hell and Menace II Society, are in the early stages of development on a Jimi Hendrix film. OutKast’s Andre 3000, who will take on the nearly impossible task of playing Hendrix, has been doing his homework in preparation for the role. He told MTV News, “I’ve actually been trying to do this for four of five years, so I’ve read biographies, seen every documentary, seen every performance.”

The Hughes Brothers have shot about 15 minutes of rough footage to convey the visual style they’re trying to capture, but the team will not continue work on the film until they receive permission from the Hendrix estate. They’re currently waiting for that permission.
