Tweedy Rehab Forces Wilco Tour Date Cancelations

Eight of Wilco’s US tour dates have been cancelled in order to give frontman Jeff Tweedy more time to recover from his addiction to painkillers. The band was planning a brief tour leading up to their big performance at Coachella, but those dates, along with the Coachella gig, have all been scrapped. Refunds will be available for all of the cancelled shows except Coachella. “Our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may cause,” reads a statement on the band’s website. “We fully expect all dates after May 1 to go off as scheduled.”

The next scheduled tour date for Wilco is a stop at the Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona, after which they’ll return to the US for few shows before heading back to Europe for a month-long trek.

04.23.04 – New Orleans, LA (Orpheum)
